About Me
I am an experienced communicator, researcher, project manager, and sustainability advocate. I'm committed to protecting the environment, increasing inclusivity, and helping to improve people's understanding of the world and how they can make a difference in it!
I have a wide range of experiences digesting complex information into forms that can be understood by different audiences, as well as working collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and stakeholders. I'm currently seeking a full-time job to transition into the environmental field.
I am a recent graduate of the Master of Environmental Studies (MES) program at the University of Pennsylvania, with a focus on sustainability. My MES capstone project (thesis) explored factors impacting people's attitudes toward green burial options and how to better educate the public about sustainable alternatives, which included conducting and analyzing a large-scale online survey with over 1,400 respondents. In addition to greener burial options, I'm passionate about land conservation, urban green spaces and trees, public transportation, reducing waste, and making sure that everyone has access to green spaces and sustainable options.
For 9 years, I was at Penn’s Annenberg Public Policy Center, where I worked on communications, writing and copyediting, graphic design, academic research, media analysis, event coordination, and more. I also served as our office's Eco-Rep for part of that time, which included implementing a new office composting program.
I volunteer and play clarinet with the Philadelphia Freedom Band, a nonprofit concert, marching, & jazz band for LGBTQ+ musicians and allies, currently focusing on graphic design, website management, marketing, fundraising, and conference and event planning. I also volunteer with Friends of Green Burial PA, a nonprofit education and advocacy group aimed at increasing interest in and availability of green burial in the state of Pennsylvania.
In my free time, I love baking, playing board games, checking out craft fairs and farmers' markets, reading (and amassing more books than I could ever actually read), and going for long walks with my dog!
